Minutes after writing yesterday’s blog post on
play, restand more, the inspiration for today’s blog post flew in.
I noticed something fascinating about me-time and rest.
|
me-time, transformation time on the fly |
Where resting is usually done when you have used up most of
your energy, there are benefits to having me-time regularly when you are still full
of energy.
I appreciate that having me-time has a re-energizing effect.
But that is for me not the main reason why I am such an ambassador for it.
It has great merits for transformation
in so many different and much more creative ways than ‘ from empty to full’.
It came with an analogy: the summersault ( as an
example of air acrobatics)
Yes, you can spend your life alternating between walking/running and standing still.
But wouldn’t it be much more fun, wouldn’t you feel much more alive and
versatile, if you could do a summersault every now and then? Wouldn’t that
change your perspective on the world and your view on your own capacities?
Me-time, on the fly of high energy, is like making a mental
emotional summersault. Life affirming and creative.
Picture that working, as you know it, is running.
Then, at some point when you have speed, you take a break
from that activity and you release yourself with a focus on what is going on in
the centre of your inner world, with full attention and poise.
The impetus and you actively changing your centre of gravity
are the ingredients to swirl into a different form. You are still the same you,
the world is still the same you, but at high speed, a complete new take on it
is created.
You land happily and confidently on your feed, having gone through
a mini life affirming transformation, a bit further then where you launched
yourself. With a big smile, ready for another run.
Yes, it is possible ( if you are well experienced) to do a summersault from standing still.
But it is so much easier to use the impetus, the speed, the
high energy.
You can go higher and it goes so much more elegant.
And, on an energy level, you are allowing all your energies the
freedom to work with you effortlessly, to lift you up, at the speed of light:
- yin (curly creative connecting energy)
- yang (straightforward disconnecting energy)
- yen ( another English word for momentus, impetus)
If you only have me-time (rest) when you are low in energy
and usually only in ‘ bulk’ ( a few hours at the time) , it is not likely that
you’ll be making very many elegant confident inspirational, inspiring
summersaults on the fly.
It is the combination of run-up, release, transform and
continuing your way that has the creative life affirming effect.

run-up ( work with focus)
stop running
realease
transform using the momentum
land
continue running (working) with a boost of creativity
having seen new angles on the fly |
